When i was going to buy a laptop, i had seen loads of videos on youTube about this topic. They say that if you want to use your laptop for only small stuff like watching movies or videos and some light gaming then you should buy a laptop with core i3 processor.
But let's be serious, if you are going to buy a laptop then the more you learn about laptop features (for eg. Word, Exel, PowerPoint, VideoEditor etc) the more you are bound to use it for many things.Then you will come to know the limitations of laptop with intel core i3 processor, and if you are thinking of installing an Antivirus on your i3 processor laptop than your laptop will work more slowly.
With rapid advansment in technology many things changes, New updates and games come every week and if you want to use your laptop for 2-3 years which is generally most of the people do then a laptop with i3 processor may not be a wise choice.
Intel Core i5
Now lets talk about intel core i5 processor. Although it is not the most powerful processor out there (there are also core i7 and core i9) but for mid-range users it is very good processor. If you buy a Laptop with core i5 processor then you will not face any major lag or issues in your day to day life even if you install an Antivirus. It is also good for playing games like Battlegrounds Mobile India(using emulator like BlueStack), GTA Vice City, Raji etc. If you are thinking of opening a youTube channel then it is also a good processor.
SSD vs HDD

SSD and HDD are used in Laptop to Store and Retrieve data. HDD is cheaper in comparision to SSD because the production of magnetic disks(used in HDD) is much cheaper than the production of flash chips(used in SSD).
If your budget is low and you can't afford a Laptop with i5 processor then make sure that the core i3 processor laptop you buy should have SSD storage type even if it is only 256 GB or 120 GB. Because compared to HDD, SSD makes your laptop 2x faster, and it will extend your Laptop life. In case of i5 processor HDD will also get your work done, But if you want a faster experience than you should go with SSD.
Generation of Processor
Also check the generation of the processor. Because with each new generation company upgrades its processors to work more efficiently and faster compared to previous generation. For eg. Intel Core i3 11th generation will be faster than Intel Core i3 10th generation.
